We are a purpose lead organisation; we want people to love their work and love their workplaces and set as many people, professionals and workplaces up for success as we can.
How do we do this, we provide a range of HR related services including integrated HR (we act as their HR team), Recruitment and training and development. We act as People Partners both to professionals through Training, Recruitment and as their People and Culture teams. We work with founders, owners and leaders to run their businesses well and be the best leaders they can. We work in business to provide the best people experience we can, both bring in best practice processes and a genuine and personal approach. We treat people like they should be treated and we want to set as many people up for success as we can.
Currently work mainly with businesses and professionals in the Property and Built Environment like Engineers, Architects and Designers, Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and Construction Management.
Growing and Evolving – Start-Up
We are still in startup mode, we started 6 months ago, have a strong client and talent base, and a Virtual Assistant. We take a lean start-up approach of vision, try, test, and reiterate. Our motto is #Towardsbetter, we aim to be 1% better every day and continue to learn and evolve.
We have a strong offering and approach and big visions for the future, now it is about continuing the success and growth we have and taking it to the next level and evolution. We are still finessing processes, the way we do things including services and marketing. We have retained clients in Melbourne and Sydney, operate nationally and have a number of exciting initiatives to kick off this year.
From the Founder – Seton
Having worked in HR and recruitment for years, I have continuously been saddened by the stories I hear from people I meet and interview. When reviewing my life at the end of 2022, I decided to finally take the leap and move to where I had always wanted to live (Qld/NSW boarder coast), start the business I had been thinking about for years and decide to pursue the balance I had lost and make a difference in any way I could.
Build Px is on a mission to make a difference, we need to make the business sustainable and being a Visionary I have very big plans. I am passionate about what I do, I want to live the life I want, make a difference and create something I can ultimately share it with those who help build it.
I believe that the most effective people are those who are balanced, their family, their hobbies, exercise and health matters, they want to live where they want to live, do their work effectively, want to help people, but don’t want to be in the politics – get the job done and get the rest of their life moving.

The way we work
We have designed the model with our team in mind. We are a remote-first business, we want our team to live where they want to live, have the balance and flexibility they need and interact with our clients and their teams but be able to work mainly from home enabling them to manage family and person commitments, but still remain connected with our clients and their people online and in person at least once a fortnight to a month. It is the best of both worlds, you feel part of a team, get your in person connection and face to face time, but have the ability to manage your day around what needs to get done and your life. In essence we want our people to have the life our founder wants – love what you do, work the right amount of hours to have to keep fit/balanced, look after family and keep happy and able to function at your best. We also want people to be able to have 6 to 8 weeks off a year whether it is to support family, travel, pursue challenges or compete.
To enable this we need a highly effective team, focused on providing great service and genuine care, but are focused on getting the best outcomes in the most efficient and effective way. As we deal with people, we can’t always manage our workload but the way we look at our way of working comes from this angle.
About This Role
We are looking for the role to start of as a part-time casual role with the view of making it more permanent later this year. Ideally we are looking for someone to work part-time hours over 2-3 days to start, potentially with a full day once a month to work out of our clients office near the CBD.
To start with role will be more of a PA / everything role as you assist Seton with the day to day services (HR, Recruitment and Training Programs), ‘On the business’ support especially in assisting in setting up processes, systems, documents, templates, workflows, automation, marketing, events, client and candidate communication (including calls).
Overtime we hope to see this role progress into becoming our Victorian People Partner, becoming the first point of contact for our retained clients and their people and being able to manage recruitment jobs, clients and candidates. This means if you don’t have HR or Recruitment experience, we would train you to become an HR professional investing both time, mentoring and development into you. The People Partner role is the perfect HR role, support people but also have enough focus time to deliver results and not get bogged down in the day to day politics.
Our clients and the professionals we work with are amazing and lovely people, we are inspired by them every day and if you like Architecture we work with a lot of designer and architects and people who create amazing places and spaces that we live in.
About You.
Ideally you come from a corporate or professional background, you have natural people skills, have skills and natural way of working that compliments and works in with Seton. As a small team we need to be able to have enough in common but enough difference to compliment our strengths and weaknesses. We have an ethos that you build teams like sporting teams and puzzles it’s about finding the complementary pieces that work together to create an ideal team.
As you will be working along side and assisting our founder here our some insights into her and how she works: genuine and honest, prefers working with people who are open, clear and set boundaries (ie don’t have to guess if it ok, you will feel comfortable be straight forward (in a polite nice manner)), people person, loves to talk (made a profession out of it), good at reading people, caring, professional, Visionary – big picture person with 100 ideas and clear long-term vision, Neurodiverse (Dyslexic and suspected ADHD – so spelling and grammar not forte), can over complicate things so good to have people who can read, interpret and simplify ideas into processes and what need to be done to make them happen.
You will be ideally;
You may also come from a professional background – eg Architect/Designer, Engineer, PM, Construction, QS, grown up around these professions, married to one or worked with them and understand what they do, but are looking for a more remote part-time role where you can use your skills and knowledge in a different way.
Alternatively, you may be an HR or person who has done elements of HR and recruitment and looking for something where you can uses your skills and knowledge but may feel burnt out or don’t want to work in house anymore or deal with the day to day politics or being pulled pillar to post and are knowledgeable and systematic and process-oriented.
