Job Goal:
To ensure that each student achieves academic success develops a lifelong love of learning, and becomes a responsible citizen in a global community. This goal will be accomplished through the offering of an enriched curriculum taught by a highly qualified faculty committed to in motivating students, with pride in their workmanship, and work in partnership with parents and school (see School’s Mission).
EXPECTATIONS:
(a) Is required to attend and participate in any scheduled staff development and training. The training calendar will be provided by the Principal/administrative designee, but such training is not limited to an annual training calendar. From time to time, such training may be required on a need basis, in exceptional situations. In addition to such training, it is required to participate on a minimum of two school-wide committees (i.e., professional development, accreditation, curriculum, etc.)
(b) Will teach in such School building and assigned classroom or buildings, and such classes, and at such times as the Principal/administrative designee shall direct. Whether the COVID-19 pandemic remains a health issue during the next academic year, all teachers are required to work at the Walnut Campus located at 1920 S. Brea Canyon Cutoff Rd, Walnut CA 91789 providing either online or physical/onsite classes as assigned by the Principal/administrative or designee..
(c) Will directly to and shall be supervised and evaluated by the School Principal/administrative designee.
(d) Enters into this Agreement with the full purpose and intent of teaching whatever classes/grades may be assigned, including any and all typically related services, and said Teacher agrees to faithfully perform and execute such duties. It is further understood that such faithful performance will include preparation time outside of workday hours. The said teacher shall be flexible to teach online or physical classes when the Principal/administrative designee re-arranges and assigns them to comply with any update regarding the COVID-19 pandemic governmental regulations.
(e) Will work within the regular school hours with assigned duties in the “before school care” program (beginning at 7:30) on a rotating basis. Additionally, the employee will assist with the timely transition of students to the after-school program (s). School Teacher’s daily schedule, recess coverage (s), and grade assignment will be determined by the School Principal/administrative designee within the workday hours, will include breaks as required by law, and is subject to change as determined by the Principal/administrative designee in order to meet School needs.
(f) Is required as part of this Agreement to attend a reasonable number of School and selected Education Foundation events throughout the school year, as determined by the Principal/administrative designee including and not limited to the following: Back to School Night, Open House, holiday celebrations, Parent Conference (s), new student testing/ assessment, calendared after school student events, New Year Festival, etc.
(g) Will provide to the Principal/administrative designee when requested any and all documentation typically related to the function of teaching and learning.
(h) Will work collaboratively at the request of the Principal/administrative designee to further develop, promote, etc. the educational mission of the School.
(i) Will submit to review, evaluation, and any and all corrective discipline, directives, or professional mentoring throughout the school year as determined by the Principal/administrative designee.
(j) Will attend and fully participate in any and all professional development activities, classes, and events, and will fully implement any and all aspects of the former as directed by the Principal/administrative designee.
(k) Will abide by the School’s and Foundation’s policies, dress code, procedures, protocols whether verbally disclosed or contained in handbooks, job descriptions, or other School documents.
(l) Any and all other duties assigned.
Salary : $42,215~$69,067.13/yr (Based on salary table)
Degree:
B.S; Major: Education; MA (preferred).
Credential: Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential (required or in or in the process).
Teaching: 1 to 3 years (Preferred).
Certification: ESL or TESOL certification (preferred).
