Your project role in Digital will involve working directly with each of the units across Digital owning projects that drive consistency in the areas of asset registration, internal billing, capitalisation and project accounting. You will also add value by identifying other areas for improvement.
Etc. is a unit within Digital where we build and accelerate businesses in emerging categories adjacent to BT to disrupt for good.
We combine the power of BT with a founder mindset to create new product businesses. This model is known as a start-up from within, where we merge the agility of a start-up with the brand, people, channels, and operations of the BT Group. We are customer obsessed, product led, entrepreneurial, and fearless.
The Product Strategy team within Etc. rapidly discover and develop ideas outside of our established verticals. You will work directly with the Product Growth Lead to create commercial cases, business models, evaluate profitability and cost expectations.
As Digital grows and evolves, so will this role. After an expected 12-18 months in the Projects & Product Strategy role, there will be an opportunity to progress to a business partnering role with one of the Digital units with responsibility for everything from annual budget process to month end to business cases.

You’ll have the following responsibilities
Digital Projects (50% of time)
- Project ownership for
o Asset registration
o Internal billing
o Capitalisation
- Digital subject matter expert for Group-wide Project Accounting implementation
Etc. Product Strategy (50% of time)
o Assessment of future product opportunities
o Commercial case development
o Strategic market and trend analysis
o Pricing and profitability modelling
Evolving into finance business partner responsibilities
- Month end & managing offshore resource
- Analysis, forecast and identify options for improved performance
- Communicate monthly performance to senior leaders
- Annual budget (MTP)
- Business case analysis
You’ll have the following skills & experience
- Fully qualified accountant / Further qualification to support specialism (.e.g. CIMA, ACCA, IIA, CISA, ACT, CTA, MCT, IR Society Certificate or equivalent), or exceptionally equivalent experience.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
- Strong IT skills, including Excel and PowerPoint, Power BI, Qlik, Tableau or similar
- Ability to interpret financials into meaningful insight, if necessary with incomplete information, to inform decision making
- Ability to use insight to make strategic and operational decisions that support the growth aspirations of the unit
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity, structuring ad-hoc analysis and insight without existing framework
- Pro-active and uses initiative to progress and solve issues without need for full direction
- Excellent problem-solving capability
Experience you would be expected to have
- A track record of effectively influencing stakeholder requirements
- Significant Senior Stakeholder experience and working within highly matrixed environments, with a track record of effectively influencing the stakeholder requirements
- Experience of financial management and delivery of improved financial performance.
- Strong situational leadership and coaching skills
- Ability to use insight to make strategic and operational decisions that support the growth aspirations of the unit
- Excellent problem-solving capability
- Role model people engagement and leadership capability with strong resilience
- Collaborative approach to problem solving
- Experience in leading Transformation
