Summary of Duties & Responsibilities

BST Global has an opening for a Microsoft Database Engineer with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) experience on the Finance and Accounting (FAM) team. This role requires the ability to understand and write complex queries, develop complex reporting content and optimize performance. Candidates must have at least 6 years of hands-on experience with database development.

Essential Functions

· Apply software engineering design and development standards

· Comprehend complex business processes

· Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and product demonstrations

· Produce efficient and elegant code that meets business requirements

· Author unit tests that adhere to code coverage guidelines

· Proactively communicate progress, issues, and risks to stakeholders

· Accurately estimate assignments

· Create and maintain technical documentation

· Proactively engage in continuous improvement efforts for SSRS reports and their operation

· Actively participate in the code review process as both a requestor and reviewer

· Learn from the feedback of others and apply that knowledge to future work

· Performs other related duties as directed

Skills & Competencies

· Must have 6+ years of experience developing SQL complex procedures, views, and user-defined functions

· Must have 2+ years of developing SSRS reports against large data sets

· Must have advanced knowledge of performance tuning tools and techniques

· Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft .Net and Object-Oriented Programming

· Experience with embedding VB.Net code within reports

· Experience in localization and advanced SSRS concepts

· Experience using Git, TFS, or other source control tools

· Demonstrate exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills

· Ability to decompose work into logical units and provide accurate estimates for assignments

· Learn and apply appropriate risk identification and mitigation strategies

· Desire and ability to learn new languages and technologies as needed

· Collaborate with internal QA on customer acceptance testing

· Knowledge of Jira, DevOps, test automation, and CI/CD best practices

· Experience in developing solutions in or for an Enterprise Resource Planning application is a plus

· Experience implementing data conversion and ETL processes using Microsoft SSIS is a plus

Education or Prior Work Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field is preferred along with 6+ years of related work experience

· Prior experience with a product-based company preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year
