Position Overview
We are seeking a professional Assistant Accountant who reports to the Financial controller. Key to this tole will be performing multiple duties within the accountancy domain which includes balance sheet reconciliation, complete the month end process for the business units, monthly end annual payroll tax calculation and time to time improve the accounting process.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Ensure month end accounting and close procedures completed with high level of accuracy within strict deadlines.
• Assisting with preparation and monitoring the overhead tracker for the BSA Group including Group overhead variance analysis against actual and forecast target.
• Assisting with preparation and lodgment of statutory & tax compliance for the Group GST, FBT & BAS.
• Assisting with preparation of monthly and annual payroll tax calculation for lodgment and payment.
• Assisting with management of workers compensation and insurance information requirements.
• Assisting with ABS returns.
• Assisting with month-end bank reconciliations and preparation of debtors and creditor reports.
• Responsible for monitoring & facilitating the Group’s bank guarantee and surety bond facilities.
• Assisting with preparation of the daily and monthly cash report ensuring accurate short and long term cash flow forecasts and drive return on capital employed and working capital improvement initiatives.
• Assisting with NSW Jobs Action Plan calculation and registration with OSR for necessary claims.
• Work closely with the external auditors to complete the half year, interim & year end accounts.
• Providing assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements.

• Master’s degree qualification in Accounting/Finance
• Completed/working towards a CA/CPA professional qualification
• Confident and well developed communication skills both verbal and written.
• Good customer service approach and a drive for business improvement.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Advance Excel skills and ability to work with various software programs.
• Good financial/corporate accounting skill set.
• Effective time management and ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
