Brooklyn Charter School Hiring for 4th Grade General Education Teacher Job at Brooklyn, NY Full Time

The Brooklyn Charter School is seeking a 4th-grade general education teacher passionate about mitigating learning loss and ensuring our scholars achieve the growth necessary to be successful and prepared for the 5th grade.

The 4th-Grade General Education teacher will develop and teach engaging lessons that follow the Eureka Math and Wit and Wisdom curricula and facilitate Guided Reading and Math small groups for scholars who require additional support and acceleration. The candidate must be comfortable building and maintaining relationships with scholars and their families.

• Collaborate and plan with the Integrated Co-Teacher daily;
• Develop weekly lesson plans utilizing lesson plan templates for subjects in which you are responsible for and submitting them electronically on a weekly basis;
• Deliver lessons in an engaging, rigorous and urgent manner;
• Manage the classroom in a positive yet stern manner in order to develop clear, positive structures, expectations and routines in the classroom in order to create a safe learning environment for all students;
• Create and/or utilize existing formative/summative assessments on a consistent basis to monitor academic achievement and developmental benchmarks for students;

• Attend Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings for initial placement of students who have been referred through the school’s Response To Intervention (RTI) process;
• Meet and collaborate with RTI teams to monitor students with IEP’s as well as identify current students who may be “at-risk” to ensure that students are receiving the appropriate accommodations;
• Communicate with families on a regular basis regarding student academic and social/emotional progress/regress;
• Participate in the Brooklyn Charter School Teacher Growth and Evaluation process;
• Participate in Brooklyn Charter School Events/Activities.

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred

– Minimum of one-year teaching experience

Brooklyn Charter School offers a very competitive salary and benefits package.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $50,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
