We’re looking for a shared service accounting assistant for a 5 month fixed term contract. Your role will involve supporting the delivery of our accounting service; this is a new service which is an important part of the finance transformation delivery; bringing significant improvement and control to the recording of our financial information.
You’ll need to bring experience from a shared service environment, used to working as part of an accounting team and service level agreements (SLAs), and familiar with reporting against performance.
Some of your responsibilities include providing insight to the business partnering team, preparing and posting standard journals as part of the month-end and year-end processes, preparing some subjective journals with supporting analysis and balance sheet reconciliations. You’ll need to have specific experience in the Cash & Banking area and have prepared & posted Bank Reconciliations too. You will be working with data champions to improve data quality, liaising with external and internal auditors, and providing timely collection and analysis of data, following up any service delivery issues and escalating, as necessary.

This role is based from our Wolverhampton office, WV10 6AU.
