Broadsheet is looking for an exceptional Financial Accountant to join our team and rapidly growing business.

Reporting into the Financial Controller, we’re looking for this dynamic person to support and further develop the internal finance and accounting functions for both businesses.

Responsibilities:

• Management Accounting
• Preparation of reconciliations for the period (week, month) and year to date, review and calculation of key performance indicators, preparation of various supporting schedules and monthly balance sheet reconciliations;
• Generate accurate and complete management financial statements for the business for review by the Financial Controller in accordance with an agreed upon monthly reporting schedule;
• Summarising results from the operations side of the business;
• General ledger processing and maintenance;
• Maintaining adequate supporting documentation for all journal entries;
• Producing periodic bank reconciliations;
• Budget review, management and reconciliation – Ensuring team expenditure budgets are being followed and reconciled against the agreed budgets and Accounts Payable commitments;
• Payroll – payroll for Broadsheet and Scout, as well as staff expense payments, superannuation, Workcover and PAYG Withholding;
• Review and monitoring in relation to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, including:
• Expediting debtor collections;
• Managing payments to suppliers to maximise use of available trade credit;

We’re looking for a person who:

• Is highly disciplined and organised with great attention to detail;
• Is able to work and communicate with the wider team who don’t have the same understanding of finance;
• Has an ability to maintain strict confidentiality in relation to the business, including Directors, owners, staff and clients;
• Has excellent oral and written communication skills

Qualifications:

• CA or CPA qualification preferred.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in commerce and/or the accounting profession;
• Experienced in the use of Xero online accounting software;
• Exceptional Excel skills;
• General knowledge of employee taxes and Workcover, superannuation, Fair Work Act compliance and employment related legal matters.
