Position Summary

Acquiring, moving, and integrating key talent across the organization is one of the most critical investments of BMS. Getting the right people, in the right role, at the right time, to deliver our business strategy for our patients is the goal of the Talent Management team.

This role will function as part of the Talent Management team in delivering exceptional results associated with the design and execution of talent management tools, processes, diversity and inclusion efforts, and initiatives that support BMS’ mission. The role will provide project management support to the talent management and performance management teams on key enterprise initiatives and annual processes. In addition, this role will ensure operational efficiency for external partners that provide development assessments and executive coaching, as well as overseeing the internal procurement process for initiating these actions.

The Senior Manager, Talent Management Operations will be accountable for performing diverse project coordination for the Talent Management team which involves multiple internal and external stakeholders and exposure to sensitive information requiring confidentiality, discretion, good judgment, as well as demonstrating our core values.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Talent Management Team in delivering enterprise talent strategies and projects
• Build and standardize templates, presentations and tools for succession planning, annual performance differentiation discussion, talent reviews, talent planning calibrations
• Support the creation and ongoing maintenance of Board of Director & BMS Leadership Team talent profiles and presentation decks
• Project management of annual initiatives across talent management and Performance@BMS
• Manage the BMS development assessment approach by launching new assessments, as well as providing updates and metrics on utilization of development assessments and 360 across the enterprise
• Translates talent metrics and analytics to inform and influence business performance and efficiency; leverages insights and trends to support talent and performance decisions to drive process effectiveness
• Manage the Talent Management Share Point site and related documents and files
• Meeting governance including cadence, meeting objectives and agendas, notes, and follow up for talent management team meetings and quarterly strategic off-sites
• Build and manage the enterprise Talent Calendar and supporting communications
• Use time management and project management techniques, including the latest technologies, to effectively manage own priorities, and assist leaders and TM team in managing their activities
• Leverage external research partners (i4CP, TMI, Conference Board, etc.) for external benchmarking and best practices to regularly share with the broader team
• Identify and troubleshoot issues; escalate to relevant partners where required
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities and make and/or implement recommendations for improving operational excellence

Qualifications & Experience

• Successful candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree
• 3+ years’ experience required, mostly related to Human Resources
• 1-2 years of Talent Management, Organizational Effectiveness, or Organization Development experience in the areas of performance, succession and talent pipeline management, or leadership development preferred
• Strong program and project management- PMP certification is a plus
• Strong learning agility with the ability to think strategically
• Exhibit a positive work approach, with high productivity and a proven track record of collaboration
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal skills, the ability to multi-task, attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills are required
• Proven skills in balancing competing demands and requests by taking initiative to adjust or change priorities
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, using discretion and judgment to know when to escalate concerns or issues, with sensitivity to handling confidential information
• Ability to analyze and solve complex problems with good judgement, often using creative solutions
• Must work well in a team-oriented work environment and rolls up their sleeves to ensure that things get done and done right
• Possess a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, discretion, and good judgment, and demonstrate core BMS values
• Maintains technical knowledge by remaining current with external trends, BMS internal systems (Workday preferred), policies, and procedures
• The candidate must be highly skilled in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel (pivot tables, formulas); proficient in other Microsoft programs, including Word and Outlook
