Bristol Myers Squibb Australia is seeking a Financial Accounting Manager to provide support to the Australia & New Zealand Business Finance Unit and partner with the wider commercial business. Join our team to make an impact on patients lives in supporting the business activities. This role will give you the opportunity to use your technical skills and make it your own by adding value where your skills best fit.
1. Finance Partnering
Partner with 3PL provider, In-Market Logistics, General Admin, HR and Facilities and Business Units to:
Track and categorize monthly operating expenditure with associated commentary
Identify risks and opportunities
Provide accurate forecasts and projections
Provide general finance support to departments
Analyze and assess changes to rental calculations
Assess brand spend and recalibrate for projection exercises
2. OTC – Technical Support Associate
Maintain Accounts Receivables ledger:
Ensure timely allocation of receivables from customers.
Follow up unpaid and/or disputed amounts with customers.
Ensure automated calculation for doubtful debt provision is aligned with aged receivables items.
Release Debit/Credit notes timely.
Master Data Maintenance:
Creation / amendment of Customer Records.
Timely review of Customer Credit Limits.
Master Price maintenance, including pricing conditions
Work closely and collaboratively with Regional Master Data team to ensure timely update of Material Items master
Timely upload of Standard Cost
Ensure review of OTC control reports are performed as per agreed frequency.
3. Fleet Administrator:
Monitor and manage the outsourcing relationship with the third party provider (Leaseplan) including supplier performance
4. Corporate Card Administrator:
Central contact point for Corporate Credit Cards; i.e. Employee Corporate Card and departmental Purchasing Cards
Partner with Company Card provider to ensure card issuance, cancellation and queries are addressed timely.
Assist employee with all card related queries; provide training where applicable.
Monitor completion of departmental monthly statement reconciliations.
5. General Accounting:
Support the timely closure of month end reporting including, but not limited to, assisting with journal entries, reconciliations etc.
Prepare the standardized month end reporting pack including inventory reporting, P&L, commentary etc.
Performance detailed PPV analysis to ensure PPV is reported correctly and the drivers are understood
Support with all audits (internal/external) and provide information/documents to ensure the timely close out of requested items.
Work collaboratively with Corporate Treasury and banks to maintain up to date banking documentation; e.g. banking signatories, in addition to cash-flow forecasts and netting
As part of projection / budget exercises, reforecast cashflow inputs and outputs to ensure that funding requirements are clear with global treasury
6. Statutory Reporting and Audit:
Primary lead for statutory financial statements and audit
Ensure GAAP and IFRS differences are accounted for in local financial statements
Ensure external substantive audit is completed on time and to a high quality
Train new team members on local consolidation models and Onesource
7. Governance:
Ensure all processes and transactions under self-responsibility are performed in compliance with applicable Corporate and Local policies and procedures.
Escalate promptly to manager any potential non-compliant matters.
Create and maintain Work Instructions for critical activities to ensure seamless processes and to be used as training references.
8. Other
Act as back-up to team members to ensure delivery of finance commitments to stakeholders and the business.
Lead projects that are directly related to areas under responsibility; e.g. Fleet, Corporate Card, PPV, Business Partnering
Participate in other Finance projects as required.
Our ideal candidate would be a qualified accountant with a pharmaceutical background or experience within the audit function of an accounting firm – including financial accounting, reconciliations, general posting & statutory reporting (IFRS & GAAP).
Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. Professional qualifications (CPA, CIMA, CA or equivalent) preferred.
Minimum 5 years experience in a finance organisation
Displays ability to manage various activities simultaneously and to prioritize tasks in accordance with their impact on stated objectives.
Sets clear and high expectations and holds self and others accountable for decisions and results achieved
Consistently delivers on all commitments and provides support to ensure all departmental commitments are met on a timely basis
Excellent understanding of internal controls and compliance requirements.
Demonstrated ability to communicate openly & transparently to all levels of the organization (internally and externally)
Demonstrated ability to question and challenge current processes and drive improvement initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to resolve issues in a timely manner to ensure that the aims and objectives of Finance are achieved.
Demonstrated ability to provide meaningful analysis and narrative on actual for legal entity results.
Works across organizational, functional and geographic boundaries to achieve company goals
Independent use of the following software: SAP, Microsoft Suite, Tax Stream, SAP Business Intelligence / Warehouse, ART, JET, Hyperion, Treasury Account Management System (TAMS), Cardea, Concur
