We’re seeking an Assistant Financial Accountant to join us here at Bristol Airport on a permanent basis.
Reporting into our Financial Accountant; the Assistant Financial Accountant will support to maintain the tight financial controls within the business and produce timely, accurate management reports. They’ll do this through monitoring, analysing and reporting on balance sheet accounts, capital expenditure and cash flow. This is an ideal role for an experienced Assistant Accountant looking for their next exciting role.
About the Role…
The Assistant Financial Accountant will be responsible for undertaking all monthly balance sheet reconciliations and support our Financial Accountant to ensure all reconciliations have been completed to the appropriate standard. They’ll administer the accounting, reporting and analysis of our capital expenditure; including setting up projects in Microsoft Dynamics 365 and provide support to our PMO function in the analysis, budgeting and forecasting of capital expenditure.
They’ll act as a business partner to our Project Managers across the business, liaising with them regarding their budgets, expenditure and forecasts on capital projects whilst supporting with the administration of company credit cards and monitoring of the controls on any expenditure. They’ll be responsible for maintaining and managing are our Fixed Asset Register, including any additions, disposals, WIP reporting and reconciliations. In addition, the role will include:
– Undertaking weekly cash flow reporting and analysis, providing updates to the wider senior Finance team
– Support the Financial Accountant with the following: year-end audit process, administration of all bank accounts, tax reporting and compliance
– Assist in the maintenance of key reporting packs including management accounts, budgets and forecasts
– Oversee any motor insurance claims and assist with the provision of data to insurers and brokers as required
– Submission of ONS surveys and EC sales list
– Cover for the Purchase Ledger Clerk and Credit Controller as required
About You
The ideal candidate will be AAT/ACCA qualified, or part qualified with the ability to analyse and interpret large volumes of data whilst exploring the reasons for any anomalies. You’ll be IT literate with the ability to use a range of different accounting and database systems and be an Intermediate to Advanced user of Excel. A proven track record of formatting and presenting data and a knowledge of cash management processes is essential. You’ll be highly numerate, educated to a A-level standard or equivalent with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial colleagues and managers whilst being a proactive and self-motivated member of the finance team. Ideally, you’ll have experience of collating, preparing, and reporting management information.
Experience of working with MS Dynamics 365, Workday Adaptive Planning or MS Power BI is advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided.
