Brisbane Catholic Education Hiring for General Manager Finance Job at Darwin Full Time

As a strategic leader in the organisation, the General Manager – Finance reporting to the Deputy Director School Services, will oversee and lead a team of Finance and Accounting Professionals, partnering with internal and external stakeholders (Principals, DESE and NT DoE and external auditors). With hands on approach, GM Finance will deliver best practice financial planning, budget management services and payroll across CENT. The role has accountability for CENT’s financial health and reporting utilising TechnologyOne and presents to the Executive and Facilities, Finance and Resources Committee on key measures and is key to contributing to the stewardship of resources.

The successful candidate will be professionally qualified (CA/CPA) with a proven track record of 5+ years of experience in mid to senior level finance in education or the not-for-profit sector dealing with government agencies and multi-site enterprise units across regional locations.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain an effective and efficient financial management and reporting system to provide accurate and relevant information on a timely basis regarding school and system finance management issues.
• Ensure year-end financial statements and government-reporting requirements are met.
• Coordinate and manage the work of the Manager, Accounting Services, Payroll, Finance Officers and School Finance Managers.
• Oversee Catholic Education Office (CEO) and school budgets: planning, operation and review in consultation with Manager of Accounting Services.
• Maintain an appropriate system of accounting at the school and system level.
• Effectively manage financial management and accountability with government agencies entering the requirement of the Education Act are met.
• Long term financial planning and risk management.
