Brisbane Catholic Education Hiring for Finance Officer – Burpengary Parish Job at Queensland Full Time

The Parish is seeking to recruit a permanent part time Finance Officer working 8 hours per week working Monday and Thursday or a Friday. 3 hours on Monday and 5 hours on either Thursday or Friday with the option of perhaps increasing these hours in the future.

The Finance Officer is accountable to the Parish Priest, will be required to work within the parish team and will be a visible presence in the parish community. The appointment will include a 6-month probationary period.

The salary for this position will be commensurate with the experience level of the successful applicant and covered under the Clerks Private Sector Award 2010.

Your main responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• PACS Computer System – entering planned giving data into, preparing data reports and updating planned giving details as required.
• Issuing of new Planned Giving envelopes and receipts on a quarterly basis.
• Ordering of Parish supplies including stationery, cleaning, liturgical supplies and pastoral resources.
• Liaising with the school facilities manager and/or school staff re shared maintenance issues, liaising with Finance Council.
• Accounting/Financial Admin – banking, payment of accounts, recording of finance data for parish using MYOB EXO and Oblates using MYOB AccountRight. Preparing reports for finance meeting.
• Processing credit card payments using BPOINT for Sacramental program, Mazenod Club and piety stall when required.
• Managing sale, distribution and recording of MAMI Christmas Cards.
• Arrange maintenance to parish buildings.
• Ensuring Parish facilities are maintained in safe working order.
• Ensuring the Parish meets its financial obligations under both legislation and Archdiocesan guidelines.

You will bring:

• Previous experience in Accounting/Financial Admin position
• MYOB experience
• Strong PC skills, in particular Microsoft Office suite of products
• The ability to maintain records in a tidy and readily accessible manner and maintain confidentiality and security of all records and private information
• Cultural sensitivity & the ability to liaise with a broad range of people
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and the capacity to work with minimum supervision.
• Organisational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and work quickly and efficiently within timeframes giving attention to detail and prioritising work while handling regular interruptions
• Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team
• An active involvement in the life of the church.

The successful candidate will also need to submit to a national criminal history/police check, possess a current Working with Children Blue Card, sign a Prior Conduct Declaration and COVID19 vaccination evidence.
