This is a remote position where you would work from home with a small team of other remote software programmers and engineers in Toronto, California’s Silicon Valley, and Romania. You maybe required to physically attend local team meetings with other Canadian team members in the Toronto area from time to time after pandemic restrictions are lifted.

About the Company*
BrightR Limited is a Canadian based consulting firm that employs Canadian IT professionals on behalf of foreign tech companies that do not have a legal presence in Canada. In this particular case, BrightR is seeking to hire two Canadian software engineers (a senior and intermediate positions) to work for a Silicon Valley VC funded startup in the cloud network security space. This Silicon Valley startup requires software engineers to develop advanced technologies that would enable organizations to connect, and users interact with applications securely and effectively over cloud networks.

Minimum qualifications: *

• 5+ years of software application development experience, not DevOps deployment experience
• 5+ years software application programming experience utilizing two or more general purpose programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Java, others
• 2+ years of multi-cloud experience in a cloud-native network environment
• 5+ years’ experience in Data plane and Control plane implementations
• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver high quality software application functionality in 1-2 week sprints
• Team player with ability to coach, guide and take pride in elevating performance of team members
• Excellent interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence
• Interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed.
• Ability communicates effectively and document technical implementation details on daily basis
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Kotlin, Go (if you have this experience, we would consider candidates with less than 5+ years work experience)
• Master’s degree or PhD or experience in engineering, computer science or other technical related field.
• Develop applications that can be deployed with Kubernetes, Docker, Helm
• Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure Cloud
• Relevant work experience, including experience with Unix/Linux and Cloud environments, C++ development, distributed systems, machine learning, data retrieval, network programming and/or developing large software systems.
• ONAP
• knowledge of cloud networking, Kubernetes networking, distributed architectures, advanced system designs, security, data storage, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, and UI/UX designs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software.
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
• Write and publish specifications, perform code reviews

Business Travel

• Regularly scheduled travels to Toronto for Canadian team meetings maybe required.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $85,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
