These students may include those lacking confidence or motivation or those with special educational needs (SEN). Bright Heart is an accredited NTP provider, so there may be an opportunity to provide NTP tuition at schools (which will be done under a separate contract)

The role

Bright Heart Education’s tuition agency (an employment business) is seeking experienced Primary and Secondary Maths and English tutors with excellent spoken and written English to provide one-to-one tuition to students. Students typically receive tuition in their homes and a parent or guardian will always be present during all tuition. Successful candidates will be provided with further information and guidelines on the Bright Heart Approach and relevant training for working with SEN students.

• South West London (Kingston upon Thames, Merton, Richmond upon Thames, Sutton and Wandsworth)
• South London (Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark)
• Central London (Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster)
• West London (Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow)
• Surrey (Epsom & Ewell)

You will be working as a self-employed, part-time tutor, so you will be free to choose which clients / students you wish to provide tuition to (although we prefer tutors who have 80 hours of tutoring availability over a 12-month period). Key qualifications

All candidates must have the right to work in the UK and will be required to have a current Enhanced DBS certificate before commencing any tutoring assignments (we can apply on behalf of a candidate if not currently held). Candidates will also be required to provide us with 2 professional references with another preferably tutoring/teaching-related.

In addition, candidates should have:

• At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and / or teaching experience in the UK
• Excellent spoken and written English
• A strong academic record and strong subject knowledge in their tuition subject(s)
• University qualification, or currently studying towards a university qualification
• Passion for teaching and for their tuition subject(s)
• SEN tuition/teaching experience (preferred)
