Do you have previous experience in Horticulture, Arboriculture, Landscape Construction, Turf Management or Irrigation and want to work within a supportive community? As part of the Grounds Worker team, you’ll be responsible for enhancing the aesthetic aspects of the campus and assisting in ensuring the safety of all staff, students and guests on all parts of the property
Our Grounds team members grass cutting, trimming, edging and weeding, maintaining grounds around building exteriors, walkways, and fixed equipment, including gutter; roof and catch basin cleaning. You believe that it is important to ensure that all aspects of your work are in compliance with applicable policies and protocols, and you will enjoy working within and contributing to the School’s vibrant and respectful workplace culture.
Your Opportunity:
This is a full-time role with group benefits and pension. A consistent schedule will be offered; however, based on operational needs or events, flexibility will be required, including weekends, evenings, and overtime.
Your Certificates and Experience:
· Education, training, and/or experience in Horticulture, Arboriculture, Landscape Construction, Turf Management, Irrigation
· Valid BC Driver’s License
· Level 1 First Aid certification
· Valid BC Pesticide applicator certificate, or the ability to obtain within 6 months
· Highly desirable: Completion of 2-year Horticultural Diploma or completion of 4-year BC Trades Qualification in landscape horticulture. (4 years)
