We create battery state estimation and control methods that provide deep insights into battery health. We use these insights to improve the battery and to provide great software products to the automotive and consumer electronics markets.

Tasks
You will join Breathe’s Software Engineering team over the 2022 summer break for 8-10 weeks, and will be working on advanced battery management solutions for automotive and consumer electronics applications. You will be developing embedded software and helping us to deploy innovative algorithms on state-of-the-art hardware. You will have the opportunity to develop your software engineering skills through the improvement of our internal software tools, to help us become more efficient as a business and enable us to deliver our technology to market faster.
Your Responsibilities
o Working alongside the software team to develop embedded testing and control solutions
o Understanding, analysing and optimising our advanced battery estimation and real-time control algorithms
o Injecting fresh ideas into our software development and testing
o Working on industry/academic joint projects
o Developing and improving our controller-in-the-loop battery test platform
Requirements
o A student with eagerness to learn, and develop new skills
o A proactive and pragmatic approach to making things work
o Programming language experience: MATLAB/Simulink
o Embedded C/C++ and Python are a plus
o Microcontroller experience is a plus
o Experience with electronics hardware (PCB) design is a plus
o Experience with batteries is a plus
Qualifications
Currently undertaking 2nd or 3rd year of a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a highly relevant area such as (but not limited to): Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Automotive Engineering.
