The Role
Delta Financial Systems is looking for a talented individual to join our test community as a Software Tester Apprentice on a fixed term basis. During this apprenticeship, you will study the Level 4 Software Tester Apprenticeship. The role of the Software Tester Apprentice is to work within one of our sprint teams as well as the wider Test community. Residing within the Quality Assurance function, you will work alongside others to create quality software. The role involves working with key stakeholders within Development, Test and Product communities.

Main Activities
  • Work within a sprint team to understand and participate in the ceremonies for effective agile delivery
  • Work alongside existing test resources to learn and follow best practices associated with software testing
  • Work with our Product team to understand requirements clearly so any ambiguities can be addressed early in the lifecycle
  • Translating requirements into effective test cases and scenarios so that the software can be evaluated in depth
  • Undertake software test execution to validate if software meets its requirements
  • Identify where software deviates from its requirements and report the findings accordingly
  • Work with developers to highlight and demonstrate software issues
  • Work with other testers to understand test automation and participate in the creation, execution and subsequent review of automated tests and associated results
  • Work with line manager to understand the principles of positive staff engagement

Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with one or more programming languages and concepts is desirable
  • Educated to A-level (or equivalent) with a minimum of grade C or above (IT A-level advantageous)
  • GSCE Maths and English with a minimum of grade C or above
