Brannon Steel Hiring for Process Engineer at Brampton, ON Full Time

Brannon Steel is looking for a Process* Engineer to join the team at its Brampton manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Vice-President of Operations, you’ll be responsible for managing, evaluating and improving existing manufacturing processes throughout the operation. You’ll collaborate with the Quality team and other functional units to drive CI and Lean initiatives and take a proactive approach to process improvements. Salary: Starting from $70 to 95K based on credentials and experience. Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Occasional evening / night hours required for shop observations, etc. Remote work*: No.

Responsibilities*

• Apply engineering principles to improve safety, quality, material flow, cycle times and manufacturing capacity.

• Continuously monitor and improve processes using Lean Manufacturing and other methodologies.
• Work with internal and external teams to review equipment, train staff and develop SOPs & best practices.
• Participate in production & resource planning efforts and make recommendations for work cell design, process flow, labour allocation and equipment utilization.
• Collaborate with the Quality team to develop and implement robust corrective action plans.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry standards, best practices and emerging technologies.
• Develop and implement historical and real-time efficiency, productivity and capacity metrics.
• Collaborate with the Sales unit as needed to support the intake of new and repeat business.
• Foster a spirit of team success in which continuous improvement benefits the entire organization.
• Maintain positive, professional relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering or a similar discipline.

• 2+ years of experience in a Manufacturing, Industrial or Process Engineering role.
• A strong manufacturing background is essential. Steel or metals experience is an asset.
• Demonstrated success in the use of engineering tools and methodology to achieve positive results.
• Strong attention to detail with an analytical mindset.
• In-depth understanding of 6S, Lean & ISO 9001:2015 principles and practices.
• Strong knowledge of Kanban and JIT manufacturing systems.
• Familiar with health, safety and environmental legislation and management systems.
• Computer-proficient including Microsoft Office, CAD / CAM, ERP and shop floor data collection.
• Skilled in the interpretation of technical drawings and specifications.
• Sound knowledge of GD&T.
• Superb business communication and interpersonal skills.
