Structural Engineer – West Midlands

A well-established, independent building consultancy now requires a proactive and experienced structural engineer to join them and work on projects around the West Midlands or Oxford area.

The Company

This consultancy pride themselves on quality of both their work and their employees, with the majority of employees being RICS or ICE accredited. The successful structural engineer will be required to be mostly on-site in residential builds, and work remotely aside from that. This role would suit an independent, hands-on individual.

The structural engineer can look forward to support from 35-40 other engineers and a strong administrative team that covers the bulk of the deskwork, such as report writing.

The Role

This role is mainly focused on structural defect surveys/ inspections on residential builds.

You will be investigating building defects such as subsidence, cracking, roofing, damp/flood damage and more.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in defect surveying / inspections
• Relevant engineering degree (civil and structural welcome)
• Chartership desirable (ICE)
• Preparing technically sound reports with justified reason
• Ability to work independently
• Liaising with clients
