Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) / QA Automation Engineer, 3-6 month contract (outside IR35)

We require an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) / QA Automation Engineer for a defined piece of work supporting our energy trading risk management software (ETRM). The SDET will be responsible for developing our internal automation frameworks and environments used by the QA team to execute the full lifecycle of product testing.

Key Skills/Experience Required:

• Strong coding skills to develop frameworks and automated tests using tools such as Visual Studio (C#, XML/JSON, Linq, Entity Framework 5+, .Net 4.7+ & Core), XUnit/NUnit, plus beneficial to have experience of Gherkin, Selenium, SpecFlow, Javascript
• Demonstrable QA and Automated Test experience
• Demonstrable Software testing experience across full SDLC
• Experience of developing robust, maintainable, efficient automated test frameworks
• Ability to interpret written requirements and technical specification documents
• Demonstrable development experience – ability to be an independent .NET developer working on the test frameworks and use modern practices like DRY & SOLID and patterns
• Experienced in developing SQL scripts for Microsoft SQL Server & performing basic admin duties on QA servers. Ability to create the test data required and load it into the database plus compare results from the database.
• Experience of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery – including tools such as Jira, GitHub, TeamCity, Octopus
• Ability and confidence to influence test strategy & approach through persuasion and demonstration
• Teamwork – ability to collaborate positively with team members based locally and remotely
