Job Purpose

As the Business School Resourcing Manager, you will be responsible for the cost effective and efficient resourcing of all School of Business programmes on a national and international basis. Reporting to the Director of Staffing you will lead a team of resource planners, to ensure that the schools resources are effectively allocated to all Business School programmes and modules (present and future), including allocation of resources to teaching, programme and course design, and development, assessment drafting, updating materials, module leadership and marking activity. You will also assist in the recruitment activities for employed and associate faculty staff.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure schools management team is updated regularly on key risks, issues and developments
  • Conduct regular team meetings, 1:1’s and Professional and Career Development conversations (PCD’s)
  • Liaise with the Programme Team regularly to enable continuous improvement on programme resourcing
  • Liaise with the Personal Tutor team to ensure effective and consistent resourcing of appropriate courses
  • Line management of the Resource Planners, Resourcing Administrator and Finance Administrator
  • Manage, coordinate and train new resourcing staff
  • Managing performance and outputs of Resource Planners
  • Manage the day to day faculty workload and calendar
  • Manage the resourcing and timetabling of all business school courses in conjunction with the programme teams and the central scheduling department for a portfolio
  • Provide regular data outputs to the senior management team
  • Provide regular recruitment needs data and support on interviews for freelance staff as required
  • Provide cover for resource planners as and when required
  • Review resourcing processes and policy with Director of Staffing and Director of Programmes to ensure continuous improvement
  • To act as the Business School superuser for Retain software and ensure roll out of training to team

  • Demonstrable experience of commitment to improving service delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent computer/IT skills
  • Experience in coordinating operational processes
  • Experience of working within a service delivery environment working towards KPI’s and SLA’s
  • Good communication and active listening skills
  • Resource Planning experience
  • The ability to work well in a team and be collaborative

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a student focused service within a fast-paced HE environment
  • Educated to degree-level, however applications from candidates with appropriate and relevant work experience will also be considered
  • Have a flexible and responsive approach to workload and the ability to proactively prioritise accordingly
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Resource Planning experience in the Education Sector
