The project lead is a part of a global team of 7 colleagues, with the goal of enabling the performance of the talent acquisition & matching (TA&M) team. The role is accountable for driving global projects, bringing different disciplines together to build best-in class solutions to enable our business strategy. This could range from leading specialist hiring campaigns, running assessment centres, supporting in implementing a new recruitment system (ATS), to ensuring that our data and metrics are working in the best way. It’s a broad ranging role and will very much flow onto highest value areas at any one time – enabling bp to find the right talent, at the right cost, at the right time. All to enable our exciting business strategy.

The team’s workload will be managed in a ‘flow to work’ agile pattern, with a hopper of potential work and a refined prioritization process enabling selection of new activity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead key projects which emerge through the prioritisation process in an agile fashion, ensuring that work is completed in a reasonable time period and to a high quality
• Support the Programme Manager (line manager) in the prioritization process and general agile working practices for the team and work delivered.
• Pivot into high priority areas of work as required, across a range of different content and stakeholder groups
• Engage with key stakeholders both inside and out of talent acquisition & matching to ensure adequate delivery of project scope
• Enable smooth interface and working between TA&M and other COEs. As matters arise to have strong networks into these areas to ensure adequate response and onward management
• Underpin project delivery with the use of data and insights to inform wider stakeholder audience and project team of progress and metrics.
• Play a lead role in the development and execution of x-TA&M policies and guidelines to ensure integration and alignment between various work streams owned by stack leads
• Participate and lead agile working practice for the team to ensure best use of time and resource
• Coach and mentor other members of the team as required
• Represent talent acquisition & matching at key external and internal forums
• Occasionally be asked to manage projects outside of talent acquisition & matching scope (broader talent projects for example)

Essential Skills and Experience:

• One team mind-set; demonstrates an understanding of the value of, and ability to develop, high quality and trust-based relationships within the wider organisation as well as outside of bp
• Strong project management experience – evidence of leading big pieces of change / implementation OR strong talent acquisition delivery experience OR good experience of managing talent systems fine tuning / implementation OR experience of data analysis
• An active listener, a strong communicator and a good influencer
• Experience of working with and managing business stakeholders
• People & Culture (hr) experience or interface
• Experience of working in global organisations
• Story telling ability – being able to bring people along for the ride
• A tangible interest in data
• An interest in and an eye for detail
• Mastery proficiency on Microsoft suite products
• Solid presentation, writing, reading and numerical abilities

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• A Project Management qualification
• Prior bp experience
• Talent tech superuser/support
