Position: Teens of Promise (TOPS) Coordinator
Starting Salary: Range of $42,000-$46,000 commensurate with experience.
Reports to: Director of Education
WORK LOCATION:
Placement at one of the 4 Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) High Schools (East, West, Memorial, La Follette) will be determined and discussed during the hiring process
Purpose of Position:
AVID/TOPS is a high-intensity, in-school and out-of-school partnership between Madison Metropolitan School District (AVID) and the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County (TOPS) focused on supporting students to develop the writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading skills needed to be college and career ready. AVID/TOPS students will increase their GPAs, attendance, high school graduation, and college acceptance. The goal of AVID/TOPS is to close the achievement gap by ensuring that students who are typically underrepresented on college campuses graduate from high school with the skills, knowledge, and experiences needed to be successful for college, career, and community.

Required Hours:
The regular hours for this full-time exempt position are Monday – Friday during school hours (varies based on-site). Holiday, weekend and evening hours may be required as project deadlines dictate.
Work Location:
This position is based in a school site. Due to COVID-19, employees are currently telecommuting in a part-time capacity and with approval from the supervisor as to work deadlines and job, duties allow. This position reports to a school site daily. Employees must maintain phone and internet services to be able to complete work as required. Technology equipment will be assigned to ensure employees have access to BGCDC servers and files. Employees may be required to work from their assigned office as needed. All COVID-19 mandated policies must be followed as posted.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employees must be able to sit for long periods of time. Physical abilities required include bending at the waist and reaching above the shoulder to maintain files, speaking and hearing to exchange information, and dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, and other office equipment. The candidate will be exposed to extended periods of time walking and standing. Physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds.
