About The Role:

Boyish has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Designer to be a part of our in-house Design team. The role will focus on our denim and cut and sew knit/woven categories. This individual will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the design process from concept to delivery, and the organization of that process. They will present exciting new product ideas. The top candidates for this role will have a very high taste level and will be able to translate his/her ideas into relatable products for the Boyish customer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engineer tech packs for internal development focusing on cost-effectiveness with ‘right-first-time’ fit and quality considerations.
• Evaluate samples ahead of the fit session to accelerate the cross-functional review process.
• Align with the buyer on fit intent, and lead model fittings by identifying problems and providing solutions to fit and quality issues.
• Assemble the fit report with ‘one-and-done’ fit goals by communicating complete, accurate, and concise solutions to the factory.
• Leverage spec/quality standards to provide a deliberately consistent product, and proactively evolve these standards to improve execution, encompass new trends, and positively influence customer loyalty.
• Issue grading for approved styles and ensure proportions are maintained throughout the size range.

Experience:

• At least 3+ years of experience
• Experience with denim fitting is a must. Additional experience with knits/woven fittings, apparel assembly, PD development, and technical terminology is a plus
• Creating measurement and construction specs for a wide variety of fabrications and silhouettes.
• Experience using Adobe Illustrator and PLM software
