About the role:
The incumbent will lead the Defence Instructor team in the effective provision of Identifying and assessing future and current training needs, developing and administering an overall and/or individualised training and development plan.
The incumbent will deploy a wide variety of training methods, systems and innovative solutions within and between campuses for the Defence training team. The role is responsible for providing Instructional leadership, providing clear, concise communication, business support and advice to the Head of Defence.
This role is a critical point of liaison between Defence and the training support team. The position is required to ensure that BHI retains its pre-eminent position as a quality education provider and is a first choice for education and training. This involves maintaining productive relationships with the relevant employers, industries, governments and relevant agencies, and managing staff and resources involved in the training processes to ensure achievement of quality training outcomes.
Your skills and experience
Personnel Management: Self-directed with extensive experience in managing a range of administrative services including student training, scheduling and budget planning and monitoring, plus the ability to prepare letters, minutes and reports.
People Management Skills: Strong leadership skills including the capacity to initiate, lead and manage in a challenging and dynamic environment and ability to motivate and engage staff and to develop high performance, results and service oriented culture.
Interpersonal & Relationship Management Skills: Ability to be discreet, high level interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise with team leaders, instructors and peers. This includes the proven capacity to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with a wide range of internal and external groups.
Project Management: Proven project management skills, excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple demands or training within tight timelines. Knowledge of project management methodology/scheduling is preferred.
Educational Training Leadership: Implement strategies and manage teaching delivery processes to achieve overall student and client satisfaction.
Business Reporting: Monitor and report to the Head of Defence on the performance of the training plan against the schedule. Ensure timely and accurate use of Instructor’s training time against forecast.
Compliance Monitoring: Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and BHI’s policies and procedures.
Resource-Personnel Management: Ensure the effective use of the BHI’s resources, promoting client-centric relationships under a cycle of continual improvement. Ensure productivity requirements are achieved and the establishment and effective operation of systems and processes within the training team.
You will need to provide or be willing to obtain a current National Police Records Check, a Working with Children Check, evidence of your entitlement to work in Australia, and certified copies of your qualifications.
