Boveda Inc. of Minneapolis, MN is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant. As a member of our world-class Finance Team you will be responsible for a wide range of accounting activities which consists of general ledger entries, balance sheet reconciliations, assistance with outsourced payroll, month-end close and other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Controller.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Treasury Cycle

The treasury cycle function of this role will be responsible for performing bank reconciliations for all bank accounts, ensuring that all bank transactions match against NetSuite (ERP) transactions and promptly investigate and resolve any and all discrepancies. This role will also be responsible for posting transactional activity to the main checking account, such as bill payments and transferring funds from the various clearing accounts.

Payroll Cycle

This role will be responsible for all aspects of the payroll cycle consisting of preparing and submitting all payrolls utilizing a PEO, submitting 401K payments within required payment rules, processing onboarding and offboarding of employees (eVerify, I9 processing etc.), maintaining compliance with state reporting laws (ex. MN Wage Theft Laws) and recording all transactions in our ERP. This role will also be responsible for updating the various payroll platforms (PEO, 401(k), ERP) with changes as they arise.

Revenue & Accounts Receivable Cycle

This role will be responsible for maintaining DSO of 35 days or less by assisting Sales Executives with collection on overdue accounts, post incoming customer payments and deposits and ensure proper revenue recognition.

Month End Close

This role will assist the team with the month-end close process. Duties will include preparing and posting journal entries, maintenance of fixed assets, intangible assets, depreciation and amortization schedules.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Comfortable with technology (Excel, Excel Formulas, Downloading/Uploading files)
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Be inquisitive and have a critical mind to efficiency; work smarter not harder
• Be an active starter who takes ownership of their work
• Must have a basic understanding of Payroll and HR labor laws
• Attention to details, work at an efficient pace, not easily distracted, and stays on task
• Able to work effectively in a remote work environment but ALSO able to come to Minnetonka, MN office as needed
• Comfortable working in a team environment
• Degree preferred, but not required
• Dependable work experience required (1-2 previous stable roles)
