Job description

· Sales experience and meat knowledge preferred but not required.

· Salary based on experience.

· Some travel outside of office maybe required.

Responsibilities

· Generate and qualify leads

· Source and develop client referrals

· Prepare sales action plans and strategies

· Schedule sales activity

· Develop and maintain a customer database

· Develop and maintain sales and promotional materials

· Make sales calls to new and existing clients

· Negotiate with clients

· Maintain sales activity records and prepare sales reports

· Respond to sales inquiries and concerns by phone, electronically or in person

· Ensure customer service satisfaction and good client relationships

· Follow up on sales activity

· Monitor and report on sales activities and follow up for management

· Participate in sales events

· Monitor competitors, market conditions and product development

· Learn to understand markets and seasonality of the meat industry

· Familiarize yourself with all cuts of meat and uses for different types of animals, i.e. beef, bison and elk

· Inform management of any customer complaints or concerns regarding quality, service etc.

· Work with the pricing manager and other sales team members to achieve the highest margins possible.
