The Opportunity
We’re looking for an Accountant to support our Exotic Direct and Petplan Sanctuary business units, acting as the main contact on all finance related matters. You will be working closely with our in-house operations team, supporting them as we continue to deliver the best end-to-end experience for our customers.
We are looking for a self-motivated Accountant to help take financial ownership of this part of our business. This is a varied role and will require you to get involved in numerous things from simple daily banking to complex claims reconciliation. This Is a fantastic role for someone looking to learn too, as you’ll have plenty of scope for both personal and professional development within our Finance team as well as through the wider Operations team.
Your Focus

• Overseeing the month end close process – running system reports, journal posting, premium and claims reconciliation, underwriter reporting et al.
• Managing our weekly and monthly sales reporting for both Exotic Direct and Petplan Sanctuary.
• Supporting the Operations team on general customer payment queries (e.g., errors, payments status, bounces, recoveries etc.)
• Reconciliation of bank statements in NetSuite as well as the various premium and claims control accounts.
• Managing the migration of premium and claims data to our new online data repository.
• Management of daily banking tasks.
• Direct Debit processing; as well as handling any related bounces.

What’s Important

• Accounting knowledge is essential and relevant qualifications are a bonus.
• You should be confident and have experience reconciling large data sets.
• Experience using and administrating varied systems
• A background in Insurance is beneficial and ideally, you’ll be used to working in a fast-paced environment like ours
• You’ll be very comfortable using Excel (and eager to learn more!)
• You’re flexible to business needs and happy to support the wider team when needed
