As the Global Talent Acquisition Strategic Projects Director, you will lead our Talent Acquisition (TA) Strategic Projects team of 4 to deliver on selected strategic projects for the business aligned to our North Star vision. You will collaborate with our senior business and talent acquisition leadership worldwide, Global Talent Acquisition Senior Director and the Managing Director and Partner of Talent Acquisition in identifying, prioritising and delivering these projects, so the exact content of this role will vary from quarter to quarter. You will bring deep talent acquisition experience as well as an adaptable, advisory mindset to develop content, advise on path forward and work with key stakeholders to deliver on selected high priority initiatives that accelerate success across our worldwide teams.

Lead Talent Acquisition Strategic Projects team to support BCG’s worldwide TA function

• Identify need for and clarify scope of internal consulting-type work required by the worldwide Talent Acquisition function. This work will vary, but will include a mix of strategy definition and project execution
• Maintain an overview and relevant prioritization of asks by key stakeholders and functional delivery teams
• Allocate resources from your team of three across these projects, plus identify any additional resources required to be successful and how to access these, balancing business needs versus constraints

Support executive and senior stakeholder engagement, input and buy-in

• Build an understanding of BCG governance groups in Talent Acquisition, Recruiting and across functions, then manage interactions with these groups on our selected projects
• Build working relationships to provide support to regional and local leadership teams, functional teams and broader stakeholders
• Support the wider GTA team and Managing Director and Partner of Talent Acquisition in discussions with BCG’s Executive team and governing bodies, including but not limited to strategic project reviews, investment cases and impact updates

Guidance for your team and ownership of selected priority projects where required:

• Act as a trusted advisor to our functional delivery teams, bringing TA functional expertise for content direction and strategy development of continuous improvement projects across processes, ways of working and operating models
• Work with business, HR and talent acquisition stakeholders to gather input, ensure buy-in and develop practical implementation plans
• Where required, support delivery teams in implementation of projects
• Maintain external market knowledge of best-in-class TA practices and standards, bringing this into advisory work
• Exact nature of projects will be defined with key business and TA leaders, but is likely to include lateral hiring and sourcing models, adoption of virtual tools and technology and process change to maximise efficiency and effectiveness across the talent acquisition lifecycle

The ideal candidate for this role should have:

• Strong conceptual and process thinking, with an ability to work through ambiguous issues with a range of possible options
• Ability to resolve complex issues/problems independently with sound judgment – open to challenging an existing or traditional way of doing things, actively listening to others and bringing in solutions beyond the obvious
• Strong influencing and networking skills; ability to work and connect with a broad range of BCG partners and to convince on decisions using data and empathy
• Clear, persuasive communication skills, inspiring in written and verbal communication including engaging use of presentation and visualisation tools to bring stakeholders along
• Ability to develop and present exec level business cases and execute business strategies
• Willingness to introduce new approaches and industry and technology trends to the team as and when is appropriate – including TA functional skills, visual design, tool use
• Ability to effectively work in a highly matrixed organization, handling competing priorities and connecting the dots across multiple areas
• Results-oriented, adept in conflict resolution, skilled at prioritization and change management

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

Candidates for this role should have:

• Management experience in Human Resources Talent Acquisition, Recruiting, Consulting or equivalent, and demonstrable impact through leading and managing teams
• A strong portfolio that demonstrates HR/Talent Acquisition transformation, change management and strategic content development to deliver business impact
• Quantitative experience with high attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
• Experience participating and leading large, cross-functional projects – identifying and driving the right strategic path forward and guiding teams to solutions
• Experience with using a variety of digital collaboration tools such as Slack, Trello, Mural, Box, and others

Other preferred qualifications include:

• MBA or Graduate degree in business, HR or any related field, or consulting experience at BCG or equivalent
• Experience with working in virtual teams across multiple regions, time zones, and cultures across the world
