Job Description

Role Description:

Product Manager for a product or products within VM-NA (Vehicle Motion North America). Actively drive product roadmap and product strategy to achieve VM-NA’s business targets. Key member of the local product team(s).

Scope & Responsibilities

• Defines and maintains Vehicle Motion product roadmaps
• Ensures the alignment of market planning with roadmaps
• Evaluates technical feasibility of innovation ideas during Innovation Management (IM) process
• Defines specifications based on market, legal and customer requirements
• Maintains product management databases (e.g. specification, cost, benchmark)
• Drives and supports the improvement of IT tools (e.g. ePC)
• Derive technical customer information including engineering changes into TLR
• Supports execution of product trainings
• Networks actively with research, advanced and system engineering
• Ensures Sales, Marketing and Engineering support (pre-selling, acquisition, communication) with regard to a product family
• Coordinates multi-customer system or component roll-out
• Support business strategy development process (CSM, BSM, MSW)
• Represent product strategy topics towards management

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of professional work experience in automotive industry (i.e. engineering, automotive product management, or similar).
• 2+ years experience in motivating cross-functional, global entities (particularly including engineering/business/marketing)
• 2+ years experience collecting/analyzing/manipulating data to identify market/industry trends and assess potential business impact
• 2+ years product market experience, such as developing strategy, innovation development, and competitor analysis

• Strong market orientation and strategic thinking
• Experience in strategic marketing and/or business development
• Leadership experience
• Excellent knowledge about strategic management tools and techniques, strategic and analytical mindset and capability
• Ability to develop market and customer portfolio strategies
• Excellent knowledge of target market , trends and competitive environment
• Good knowledge about Chassis Controls and/or Steering products, USPs, technology roadmaps
• Knowledge about UX-approach
• Well-organized with outstanding analytical skills
• A marked ability to work in diverse and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to think and act independently.
• Strong business acumen – attention to detail while maintaining focus on the big picture.
• Ability to plan, organize and execute in an unstructured environment.
• Proficient with making presentations to all levels of cross functional, global teams. Microsoft PowerPoint is the primary tool.
• Proficient in analyzing/manipulating data and preparing charts in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
• Automotive work experience, particularly in the areas of active safety, actuation, steering and/or passive safety.
