We started the company to solve a problem — to make bookkeeping easier and more cost effective. Business owners are too busy running their business and this is an area that often gets left behind. We are a rapidly growing young company and are looking for accountants to join our bookkeeping team as we scale. This is a full-time position with relatively flexible hours.

Responsibilities

The senior accountant is primarily responsible for the day-to-day accounting processes, reconciliations, month-end close and to support our clients’ needs.

• Responsible for all general accounting functions, including revenue accounting, accounts receivable and accounts payable.

• Maintain accurate supporting schedules and documentation for balance sheet accounts such as fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, etc.

• Perform month end close procedures in timely manner

• Ensure financial statements are accurate and timely

• Develop processes and workflows to improve existing ones and support anticipated growth

• Assist in new client onboarding and automation set up

• Manage ad hoc projects as assigned

• Review daily banking transactions and assign account codes

• Review vendor invoice transactions to ensure automation is working properly

• Perform bank account and credit card account reconciliations

• Working with clients to manage bill pay

• File sales tax returns monthly or quarterly

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in accounting/bookkeeping

• BS degree in accounting a must

• Solid understanding of GAAP accounting principles

• Thorough understanding of accounting methods, standards, bookkeeping and reconciliations

• Super proficient in Quickbooks Online, knowledge of bill.com and other relevant accounting tools

• Extensive experience with Quickbooks Online

• Experience with front end sales systems such as Shopify, Amazon, Etsy, POS systems would be a definite advantage

• Ability to handle a portfolio of multiple clients

• Strong Excel skills

• Tech savvy and not afraid to learn new tools

• Self starter, positive attitude and ability to problem-solve with minimal supervision

• Strong communication and organization skills

• Impeccable attention to detail and presentation

• Be time sensitive, ability to deliver work on time is a must

• Be proactive, plan for rapid business growth and always seek additional responsibilities

Pay: $70,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
