Book of the Month Hiring for Sr Manager, People Talent & Recruiting at New York, NY Full Time

The People, Talent & Recruiting function at Book of the Month focuses on building and growing our team in 3 main ways: Hiring, Talent development, and Employee experience. We’re looking for a high potential leader to manage and continuously improve Hiring function in a high caliber manner. This role will directly to the VP of People and work collaboratively with all levels of leadership at the company to make effective interviewing and hiring decisions. Over time, this person will also work on and contribute to various talent development and employee experience programs. This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast paced environment and is passionate about building a career in the HR/People space.

What you will be doing…

• Manage and refine the Talent Acquisition function in a high quality and competent manner. Lead the recruiting process for open roles from start to finish, resulting in ongoing improvement to our hiring practice and helping the company make more aligned hires from ahead.
• Establish and run a market mapping/proactive sourcing process for exploratory (type A) jobs that will expand the business.
• Guide BOTM managers and leaders to make effective decisions in their hiring and talent, such as: using hiring tools, providing sound advice on candidates, and making decisions on interview questions or projects.
• Over time, propose, design, and launch tools that democratize best practices to leaders.
• Over time, work with VP of People on various People processes and projects as requested. Build and develop project plans that scope and launch designated talent development and/or employee experience programs.
• Represent Book of the Month in a high quality, trusted, and professional manner to the internal team and prospective candidates.

What you should have…

• 5+ years of people-related work experience experience, with a minimum of 3 years at an executive search firm
• True passion for finding and evaluating great people who fit open positions
• Experience market mapping / doing market intelligence
• Demonstrated success in filling various complicated roles with a variety of business leaders.
• Skilled at running and iterating on cross-functional process iteratively
• Adept problem solver: ability to identify when something works/doesn’t work, and pivot accordingly
• Clear, direct communicator (written and verbal)
• Strong project plan building and execution skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and follow-through; performs tasks with high degree of accuracy and efficiency
• High degree of flexibility in a demanding, fast-paced and frequently changing environment
• Familiarity with, and enthusiasm for BOTM mission is a plus

Base salary range: $90,000 – $150,000
