THE OPPORTUNITY

We are excited to offer the opportunity in a food manufacturing setting to outgoing, resourceful, and energetic individuals with demonstrated leadership skills.

The qualified candidates for this position would be required to work rotating continental shift work (12-hour shifts), which will involve working every other weekend. (36-48 hours per week). In this role, you will report to the Operations Leader.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :

• maintain consistent process flow of all packaging lines to produce safe, a quality product within customer specifications adhering to all safety policies and regulations while maintaining efficiency and continuity
• provide accurate and legible daily production records
• preliminary quality check on the product
• verify the integrity of packaging materials, coding clarity, and legibility
• effective and knowledgeable operation of raw product supply
• effective and knowledgeable operations of case erecting and case packing
• effective tote components and pallet handling
• organize and perform effective and efficient changeovers
• perform accurate robot and labeling setup
• troubleshoot packaging equipment and perform preventative maintenance when required
• maintain the cleanliness of your work area and perform tasks within safety standards
• ensure all packaging equipment is cleaned and sanitized regularly to HACCP and Food Safety specifications
• participate in and make recommendations with regard to Continuous Improvement initiatives;
• operate a narrow aisle reach truck ( training to be provided- experience is not necessary)
• communicate effectively with leaders
• contribute to and promote a positive work environment through effective team relations

QUALIFICATIONS :

• minimum grade 12 or equivalent diploma
• previous food handling experience
• able to work rotating 12 hr. continental shift work including weekends
• able to perform physically demanding tasks and work at heights in a cold environment
• have a quality conscious mindset and good attention to detail
• able to work independently
• strong written, verbal communication, and computer skills
• critical thinking skills
• mechanical aptitude
• understanding of HACCP, GMP’s and food plant sanitation
• able to work as part of a team and promote a positive work environment
