Summary

Computes and analyzes financial information; prepares reports of financial activities and tax returns for clients.

Job Duties

1. Accounting a. Prepares financial reports (e.g., balance sheet, profit & loss statement, etc.) by recording account information in proper accounts b. Analyzes clients’ records of financial transactions to determine accuracy and makes corrections when necessary c. Computes taxes owed and ensures compliance with tax payment, reporting, and other tax requirements d. Produces reviewed and audited financial statements for financial institutions e. Assists clients in determining their own account categories

2. Tax preparation
a. Reviews financial records to determine forms needed to prepare return b. Computes taxes owed and completes entries on forms, following tax form instructions and tax tables c. Consults tax law handbook or bulletins to determine procedure for preparation of atypical returns d. Calculates form preparation fee according to complexity of return and amount of time required to prepare forms e. Responsible for preparation of Forms 1120,1120-S,1065, and 1040

3. Decision making and evaluation a. Determines how to prioritize and manage projects for self and clients in order to be most productive b. Considers the costs, benefits, strengths, and weaknesses of potential approaches to choose the most appropriate one c. Applies the most appropriate IRS rules and regulations d. Monitors/assesses performance of self and clients to make improvements e. Identifies complex problems and reviews related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions

4. Client interaction
a. Communicates with and represents the organization to people outside the organization

b. Asks appropriate questions to determine true tax liability c. Deals with clients appropriately in terms of answering questions, maintaining open communication, managing difficult clients, and demonstrating willingness to meet the clients’ needs d. Meets with clients as needed to understand operations and discuss new business e. Assists clients with applications specific to their business needs

5. Office interaction
a. Provides information to supervisors and co−workers and interacts with them as needed (e.g., problem−solving or reporting work) b. Shows respect for co−workers by giving full attention to what they are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times c. Provides assistance to co−workers when needed

6. Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills
a. Accounting/Business Degree, CPA certified b. Competent with company software c. Adapts to novel situations (e.g., software of clients) d. Stays up−to−date with tax laws e. Handles stressful situations appropriately

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
