The Opportunity

We are seeking a JADC2 Software Architect to support activities within Boeing Defence Australia across a number of initiatives developing and delivering Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) products for Australian Defence customers. These capabilities will allow sharing of data across the battlespace to provide sophisticated, time relevant information and decision support across armed services.

This is an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise and leadership skills across a range of new and established programs. In doing so you’ll help Boeing design modern software architectures, implement distributed cloud based & DevSecOps practices, investigate and apply Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence approaches and drive rapid iteration of capability and deployment. Through these activities you’ll enable Boeing to optimize its products and services for the future of Integrated Air and Missile Defence systems.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will involve:

• Leading the definition of software solutions across a portfolio of JADC2 initiatives, ranging from green-fields R&D activities to the evolution of in-service systems;
• Providing technical leadership to groups of engineers implementing system prototypes and concept demonstrators;
• Supporting the elicitation of requirements from technical, business and operational stakeholders;
• Supporting portfolio and program level planning and estimating; and
• Contributing to proposal development and writing activities.

Experience/Qualifications

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

• Experience with and understanding of Air Battle Management, Communications Systems and/or Integrated Air and Missile Defence systems;
• The ability to work creatively to understand customer needs and shape solutions to suit;
• Expertise in the application of modern software engineering practices in a complex system environment; and
• Experience in providing technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams of technical staff in high tempo environments.
