The Boeing Company’s Boeing Commercial Airplanes organization is looking for a talented Senior Instructional Systems Designer based in North Charleston, South Carolina.
The Senior Instructional Systems Designer will be responsible for leading content development for the 787 Supply Chain Fulfillment team’s professional development curriculum. The content developer will design engaging, interactive learning experiences integrating multimedia technology and innovative strategies to support a highly effective, world-class learning environment.
This position requires a self-motivated, well-disciplined, and pro-active individual willing to take the initiative to meet business requirements. Partnering with a curriculum strategist, SMEs, and other stakeholders, the content developer will optimize the educational program with high-quality content to meet a variety of adult learner needs and to achieve a high Fulfillment standard of excellence within the Boeing Production System.
Position Responsibilities:
Designs, develops, and delivers course content and instructional materials for established learning objectives
Tests delivery environment and establishes system access requirements
Delivers error-free content and assesses effectiveness based on learning objectives
Maintains curriculum and courseware
Identifies needs, develops, and conducts analysis for audiences to determine the ideal delivery method for course curriculum content
Deploys development tools and monitors implementation and performance outcomes
Partners to conduct a performance needs analysis and identifies performance improvements
Supports customer workplace coaching sessions to improve individual or group performance and tailors learning content to fill common gaps in understanding for organization
Consults with business partners on performance development opportunities by analyzing, planning, implementing and evaluating learning strategies and solutions
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
5+ years of experience using curriculum management and/or Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodologies, systems and tools
5+ years of experience designing and development of training content, to include courseware and curricula
5+ years of experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
5+ years of experience developing and producing digital contents using a variety of software or multimedia
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related field
Advanced degrees or certifications in Curriculum Development, Instructional Systems Design, Training, Training Technology, or other relevant fields
Experience working teaching adult learners or working in learning and development or talent management organizations
Experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Fabrication
Excellent grammar/writing skills, attention to detail, and accuracy while efficiently completing content deliverables
Proven ability to consult with and build collaborative relationships with stakeholders to develop relevant requirements and effective content
Capability to drive and lead training and development projects through implementation
Capability to interpret and explain complex information to a range of audiences
High level of productivity and ability to independently manage tasks to meet deadlines
Typical Education & Experience:
Typically 10 or more years’ related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.

Summary pay range: $90,100 – $121,900
