Boeing Canada Operations Ltd. (BCW) is seeking a Security Specialist that will be reporting to the Senior Manager of Security and Fire Protection. This position is located in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The Security Specialist will act as the primary site focal for all physical security standards, approves actions, and responds to all emergencies. Review and update Security and property protection procedures, policies, and standards; ensuring employees and service providers understand their individual and organizational responsibilities through education and training.
Position Responsibilities:
Oversees design, development and implementation of organization policies, programs, processes and procedures for the purpose of safeguarding people, property, information and the safety environment while ensuring compliance with applicable government and company security and fire regulations.
Integrates security risk management solutions to enable successful business outcomes
Provides oversite of uniformed security (contract services) including developing SOW, monitoring performance and compliance and training of site protocols.
Prepares for and responds to emergencies and crises.
Responds to emergency and Security calls to mitigate hazardous situations. May act as Fire Chief /Incident Commander and, determines and implements the appropriate course of action.
Supports investigations and compliance-based audits and reviews consistent with local, International and Enterprise Standards.
Develops plans and leads responses to emergencies and crises acting as security, fire and protection focal on behalf of regional and/or site leader.
Consults, advises, instructs and applies technical expertise to management and cross functional teams in strategic, tactical, operational and business planning activities.
Demonstrates discretion and situational awareness of security and fire protection matters.
Interfaces with the appropriate government agencies, company management and employees, customers, vendors and suppliers on security and fire protection related issues.
Provides assistance and consultation to identify, mitigate the impact of, or employ company, industry or government regulations or trends that may affect company risk management.
Coordinates and conducts independent reviews, assessments and analysis of risk management actions and products for program sustainability.
Review and update Security and property protection procedures, policies, and standards; ensuring employees and service providers understand their individual and organizational responsibilities through education and training resources.
Assists in the development of training materials, supports coaching, mentoring, development of site teams, and directly with Security and Fire Prevention team.
Inspects various routine, emergency and security equipment, systems and apparatus to ensure operational readiness and to comply with applicable codes, standards and company procedures and completes appropriate documentation.
Other responsibilities within the Fire and Security organization.
Develops and shares security good practices with other Boeing Canada security lead/focal and the International Security teams.
Provides security assurance reports as necessary, and escalating any relevant security policy issues, to the Boeing Canada Security Officer.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):
10+ years of experience with security and property protections
Experience working in security, fire protection, and/or emergency preparedness in manufacturing environment
Candidate must be eligible for authorization under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP). Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods
Must be able to obtain/transfer a Public Services and Procurement Canada Reliability Status
Must be able to obtain a Canadian Government Controlled Goods Program security assessment
Must be able to work 25% of shift (evenings or midnights)
Must be legally able to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):
Experience working with AutoCAD, Visio, Access control technologies, databases and CCTV technology
Must be able to meet company and International exports requirements
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years’ related work experience, 14 years’ related work experience, etc.).
Relocation:
This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
This requisition is for a, locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
