Boeing Global Engagement is seeking a Mid-Level Education Relations Specialist to join the team in Berkeley, MO. The selected candidate will become a member of the Boeing Global Engagement team, the Education Relations Specialist and will be responsible for our tactical outreach to inspire students to pursue STEM careers which will positively impact our strategic workforce talent pipeline with a focus on Diversity and Inclusion initiatives by providing Boeing awareness to students, education partners and the community.
The position requires significant cross-functional collaboration and cooperation within Government Operations, as well as with Communications, Human Resources, Operations, Ethics, Legal, University Relations and Boeing subsidiaries. Frequent local travel to support events sponsored or otherwise supported by Boeing is required, as well as periodic travel outside St. Louis to attend meetings and events. Attendance is expected at community events and functions that often occur after business hours and on weekends.
Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for K-12 student and community volunteer engagement in the St. Louis region
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with stakeholders, peers, internal leaders and external partners, community and nonprofit leaders with an emphasis on education stakeholders
Supports charitable grants and sponsorships by engaging volunteers and managing volunteer platform to ensure gift match and company contributions are optimized
Represents the company as directed across the region, including in public settings (e.g., Boeing – sponsored community events)
Promotes Boeing Global engagement priorities and provide subject matter expertise to site leadership and other company leaders who manage and participate in external relationships
Influences decision makers and stakeholders by providing information related to issues, communicating effects and providing recommendations in order to best represent the interests of the company
Develops and implements actionable and measurable volunteer initiatives and plans that align to corporate strategies and ensure effective use of company resources and identify how community involvement can support business objectives, and develop and implement execution plans, ensuring that all activities align to BGE strategy and support the Boeing brand
Builds strategic cross-functional and cross-organizational partnerships to resolve problems, improve processes and achieve operational and strategic goals
Oversees MakerSpace and is able to teach participants 3D printing, Raspberry Pi coding and flight simulator experiences
Provides support for Prologue Room and is able to give a high level informational and host activities for students
Manages the budget for K-12 engagements
Other duties as identified by leadership
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Berkeley, Missouri.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Must be able to lift 40 lbs. (Ability to set up, staff and disassemble booths for STEM and other activities)
3+ years of experience in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
3+ years of experience exhibiting excellent communication skills that include writing and presenting to large audiences
3+ years of experience social media experience
3+ years of experience project management
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Should have reliable transportation
Experience and ability to thrive in fast paced environment
Organized with strong time management skills
Experience in educational outreach programs, community relations, outreach to schools, or military events
Experience in engagement and/or diversity groups
Excellent team player with a “can do” attitude and strong written and oral communication skills
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years’ related work experience, 10 years’ related work experience, etc.).
