Boeing Defence Australia’s Aerospace Engineering & Production Capability provides a range of modification, production, repair and continuing airworthiness services to support Defence’s Boeing-managed aircraft fleets and complex communication systems. The Opportunity

We are seeking multiple Manufacturing Engineers to join our team supporting the cutting edge aviation platforms that are being supported by Boeing Defence Australia. In this role you will apply your knowledge and experience to a broad range of designs across the engineering Lifecycle, establishing build plans, regulatory compliance, applying LEAN principles, ensuring first-time quality and corrective action resolution. We are looking for someone that will innovative and operate to make the world better by embracing and living our values.

The role is based in Brisbane, Queensland. Travel to company, supplier and customer facilities in the South East Queensland area will required as needed.

Responsibilities

As a Manufacturing Engineer:

• Participate on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines.
• Lead and implement manufacturing plans.
• Validate and ensure production readiness of solutions to complex problems.
• Implement Lean principles and technologies.
• Provide guidance on the build and compliance reporting to ensure the production products conform to the product design.
• Assist in providing producibility information for inclusion in project plans and help document producibility best practices.
• Resolve technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost or schedule.
• Conduct producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements.
• Analyse design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitions.
• Develop and implement production and tooling methodologies.
• Coordinate and implement new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts.
• Work with the Regulatory Authority and Boeing Office of Airworthiness to ensure compliance and airworthiness.
• Support our suppliers to resolve production challenges and collaborate with them to improve functionality, quality and affordability of our products.

Experience/Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have a collaborative team approach, well developed analytical skills and excellent written and verbal skills.

To be considered for the role you will:

• Hold tertiary qualifications with a minimum of 3 years’ work experience in a relevant technical discipline, e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Structural Engineering.
• Previous experience building complex parts and assemblies or integrating systems within Aerospace, Defence or complex engineering project environments will be highly regarded.
• Demonstrated experience in manufacturing and production environments.
• Experience with Manufacturing Resource Planning, Manufacturing Execution System or Enterprise Resource Planning software systems and tools.
