The Boeing Global Services Digital Customer Experience Team is looking for a Junior User Experience (UX) Designer (m/f/d), reporting to the Customer Experience Manager EMEIA supporting branches in Europe (Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Gothenburg) and India (Bangalore). The UX Designer will be designing software for commercial aircraft customers providing them competitive advantage by solving real operational problems, enabling better decisions, maximizing efficiency, and improving environmental performance. This position allows for a hybrid work model providing the flexibility of working from home and being onsite when required.

You will also be part of the larger Boeing Global Services (BGS) Customer Experience (CX) organization of over 100 researchers, product designers, and data analysts where you will benefit from, and contribute to, our DesignOps initiatives, such as our design system, training program, ResearchOps, and tools working groups. You will report to a UX manager with over 20 years of experience in the design industry who cares deeply about mentorship and career development.

Tasks & Expectations:

Joining the local Design Team, the UX Designer will research and design workflows and user interfaces for web applications and services. Design work is primarily done in Sketch and InVision (Figma coming soon).

• Empathize: The UX Designer will participate in research activities under the direction of a research specialist.

• Define: The UX Designer will participate in the analysis of research data and assist in the creation of documentation.

• Ideate: The UX Designer will develop solutions through brainstorming, sketching, and creation of mockups, regularly seeking feedback from the team.

• Prototype: The UX Designer will create prototypes and may be asked to present them to stakeholders.

• Test: The UX Designer will participate in testing activities, iterating on their work.

• Implement: UX Designers will participate in meetings with the development team to explain designs. They will revise designs to accommodate implementation.

• Measure: UX designers may participate in the creation of surveys and will review results of surveys and analytics with their team to understand the impact of the products they are working on.

Required Skills/Experience:

• BA/BSc in Visual Design, Media Design, Industrial Design, Human Computer Interaction or similar User Interface related education

• 2+ years of experience with UI design

• Experience with reference platform frameworks (Apple HIG, Google Material Design, Microsoft Fluent Design)

• Experience in applying Design Systems and contributing to their extension

• Proficiency with current design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma and InVision

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Education/Experience:

• Post-Secondary Education

• Experience in aviation or aerospace

• Experience working in SAFe or Agile teams

• Ability to handle complex workflows and scenarios
