Boeing is seeking a Software Developer reporting to the Senior Manager of Software Development and will be working out of the Richmond, British Columbia office. The Software Developer must be proficient in Python/Java and other server-side technologies, passionate about code quality and good engineering practices. Expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a big plus.

Position Responsibilities:
Collaborate with team members, PO and scrum master in an Agile environment

Perform and manage the activities involved with the development, documenting, interfacing, integration, testing and support of complex software

Ensure that the software you build aligns to architectural guidance and the team’s agreed upon code best practices

Monitor health of the application and environment, and act to return system to health when alerted

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the listed location.

Required Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

Must be legally able to work in Canada

4+ years of experience in Software Development

4+ years of experience with Java

Fundamental knowledge of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns

Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, computer engineering or equivalent

Experience with GCP or Azure

Experience building REST APIs and using messaging services

Experience with Front End web development

Typical Education and Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience, 9 years’ related work experience, etc.).
