The Boeing Company is looking to hire an Entry Level Virtualization Engineer to join the Berkeley, MO site.

This is a growing team of high performing engineers who are working on a capability that is currently only being done at Boeing. The virtualization of hardware to create high fidelity digital twins that are capable of running the same software binary files as physical hardware is changing the way that hardware and software development and test is being done across all commercial, defense, weapons and satellite organization.

Position Responsibilities:

• Assists with the documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems

• Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system

• Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met

• Gathers information to support software project management

• Documents deployed processes and tools and collect metrics

• Supports software research and development projects

• Troubleshoots basic software issues. Works under close supervision

This position has been identified as a virtual opportunity and will not require the selected candidate to relocate. The selected candidate may be required to work onsite at one of the listed locations on occasion.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics by the end of June 2023

• Experience with C and C++, C#, .NET coding, debug, and development

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Experience working in an Agile software development environment

• Experience in Virtualization technologies, e.g. QEMU, Splunk, VMware

• BSCE or BSEE with strong software background or BSCS with some hardware background

• Experience in software programming and/or hardware design/troubleshooting and corrective action

• Experience in embedded real-time software development

• Experience with hardware-software boundary

• Experience in the integration of computing hardware and software components into functioning computing systems

• Experience with different processors including Arm, Power PC and Intel

• Experience with firmware/hardware development for embedded applications (FPGA, etc.)

• Experience with coding, debug, and development

• Experience in avionics and aircraft systems

• Experience in Git, Jira and in software development in Visual Studio

• Experience with MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-429, RS-422, and Ethernet communication protocols

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Summary pay range: $64,600 –$101,200
