Boeing Research & Technology is seeking an Entry Level Manufacturing Research and Development Engineer to support the St. Louis area at our Berkeley, Missouri location.

Learn from experienced mentors to support design & fabrication of composite and metal parts on aircraft. Write process specifications and coordinate with technicians and senior engineers throughout. Analyze production processes to sort through complex signals and diagnose the root cause of problems, and then be the one to develop and implement the solution.

Position Responsibilities:

• Collects information to support definition of requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the manufacture and engineering design of products.
• Develops statements of work for the design and acquisition of new equipment and processes to meet requirements. Assists with activities to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements.
• Conducts basic analysis to determine performance or reasons for failures of equipment or processes.
• Assists in implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Develops basic computer and production systems to satisfy user requirements. Uses project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements.
• Incorporates environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes, (2) research, design and qualification, (3) work procedures and (4) labs and office areas.
• Ability to work with minimal direction and engage with teams across the enterprise.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Recommendations below, please add to or remove

• A Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Engineering Technology(Competed degree or will complete by June 2023)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Experience in aerospace, automotive, robotics or similar industry
• Experience in a manufacturing or manufacturing support environment
• Experience in aviation or aerospace

Typical Education & Experience:

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range: $64,600 – $87,400
