In partnership with the Director of Marketing and Membership and the Director of Corporate & Federated Partnerships, this position will also be responsible for integrating educational content and resources into BoardSource’s membership programs to ensure that member experience provides meaningful and measurable support that strengthens board leadership and governance.
Primary Responsibilities
Educational Programming & Management:
Design and oversee a multi-modal educational strategy focused on providing educational resources that will help members and other nonprofit leaders strengthen their board leadership and governance. These offerings include but are not limited to the Board Support Program, BoardSource publications, online resource-library offerings, events, and workshops (in-person, asynchronous, virtual, and hybrid).
Serve within a leadership structure to support cross-programmatic strategies for member education and engagement
Develop and manage budgets for all educational offerings in partnership with Associate VP of Education and Outreach
Supervise a team of (2) governance education professionals responsible for creating, curating, and maintaining educational offerings across a variety of platforms that are accurate and aligned with BoardSource positions and recommended governance and leadership best practices
Design educational strategies that serve the needs of nonprofit executives (CEOs and executive directors), board members, and affiliated consultants.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Five or more years of experience in nonprofit management and leadership focused on educational programming for adults
Knowledge of the nonprofit sector and principles of nonprofit board leadership and governance
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience writing and editing educational content and directing others to do the same
Strong project management, follow up and follow-through skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines and budgets
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
Position may require some travel (less than 10%)

Compensation and Benefits
BoardSource offers competitive wages and excellent benefits, including high-quality health insurance with dental and vision coverage, life insurance, a retirement plan with employer match, and other work/life benefits. The hiring salary range for this position is $81,000-$102,000, depending on experience.
