Finance Assistant

About the role

BMT is looking to source a hard-working and reliable Finance Assistant to join the Finance team.

To be successful in this role you will be able to work autonomously and able to manage your time effectively whilst being a strong team player contributing to the Finance team and company objectives.

Key Accountabilities will include:

• A desire to contribute to the business and support the company values
• Processing personal & credit card expenses

• Reconciling the credit card statement
• Posting Sub-Contractor & purchase ledger invoices onto the accounts system, matching to a PO or relevant PM approval
• Processing sales invoices
• Checking allocations with sales and purchase ledgers
• Providing financial support to employees
• Helping with month end balance sheet reconciliations
• Ad-Hoc Financial Administration such as setting up the occasional payment run

In terms of location, the office is based in Bath, and we are happy to explore flexible and hybrid working arrangements. This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.

About you

• Ability to organise and prioritise a demanding workload and meet deadlines.
• Excel and MS Office skills.
• Proven experience covering the tasks outlined above.
• A keen eye for detail.
• A team player.
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication in all its forms.
• Knowledge of IFS and/or Access Dimensions would be desirable.
• Understand the basic accounting concepts.
• Able to strive for efficiencies.
• Being flexible and willing to take on new tasks.
