Position Overview

Reporting to the Senior Software Engineer, the Software Engineer will be thoroughly involved in all aspects of the design and development of BMI’s products. This position will work closely with the rest of the Product & Commercialization Team – ensuring that everything we do is for the betterment of our clients.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Programming well-designed, testable, and efficient code with quality assurance procedures
• Test software development methodology in an agile-friendly environment
• Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility
• Document and maintain software functionality
• Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems or future platforms
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external users
• Provide recommendations for continuous improvement
• Provide updates on progress and potential roadblocks to the Senior Software Engineer
• Participate in Product Team meetings as requested by Senior Software Engineer and perform ad hoc tasks as required
• Achieve a majority of weekly commitments and assigned Individual and Team goals during applicable performance periods
• Participate in BMI’s culture of transformation in the spirit of enhancing scalability, process improvement, generation of new ideas on existing service offerings, or making key insights using available data
• Other duties may be assigned as necessary

Required Skills:

• Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Minimum three years of software engineering experience
• Proficiency with .Net and SQL server
• Superior time management, detail orientation, organizational skills, and the ability to quickly adapt to, and manage, multiple priorities or projects
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in collaboration with team members across an organization
• Preference will be given to candidates residing in the South Bend, Indiana regional area
