The Bloomsbury Royalties Department is responsible for preparing royalty statements and making advance and royalty payments to Bloomsbury’s authors around the world. We are now recruiting for a new role, Royalties Analyst – UK Non-Consumer, to join this busy team
The Royalties Analyst – UK Non-Consumer role partners with non-consumer teams within Bloomsbury UK to ensure that royalties are paid accurately and on time, queries are dealt with professionally and that both editorial and management are provided with high quality analysis of royalty data, especially concerning digital [BDR] platforms. Whilst prior publishing royalties experience would be desirable, this role is also open to numerate graduates with good communication skills and attention to detail. This is a good opportunity to gain experience of publishing and to deal with some of the UK’s best known properties.
The role
Setting up contracts on royalty system
Setting up of supplier details on accounting system
Monthly review of and clearing of items from royalty exception reports
Lead the move to processing BDR revenue via Data Warehouse and to reporting royalty expense accurately on a monthly basis.
Assist with the provision of monthly reports and analysis/review with editorial and management teams [e.g. BDR, missing contracts, etc.]
Active participation in all aspects of half-yearly royalty runs to ensure payments to authors are accurate and made on time
Dealing with and resolving royalty queries from authors and editors in a professional and timely manner
Assist with integration of new acquisitions into the royalty system, especially as this relates to digital rights acquired
Knowledge, skills and experience
Strong excel skills – pivots, v-look-ups, etc.
Numeracy, speed and accuracy
Good communication and organisational skills
Familiarity with royalty and/or accounting systems
Royalties experience – ideally in trade publishing
Understanding of double entry book-keeping and general accounting desirable

The role is a full-time permanent position.
The role is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a hybrid working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred). Allocated office days for this role are: Monday and Tuesday
