Block Engineering Hiring for Sales Representative: Chemical Detection / CBRN Sensors at Remote Full Time

Block Engineering is a developer of laser-based sensors designed to detect and identify a wide range of chemical threats. These threats include Chemical Warfare Agents, Toxic Industrial Chemicals, Narcotics, Explosives, and other weaponized chemicals.

Block is seeking a Sales Representative with CBRN, Physical Security, or HazMat experience to assist with domestic sales efforts for Block’s LaserWarn standoff chemical detection and identification sensor.

Individuals who have recently separated from military, law enforcement, or emergency response groups are invited to apply. This role carries an expectation for proactive lead development and engagement activities. However, past sales experience is not required.

This is a true sales role, with a significant focus on creating awareness, customer engagement, and opportunity development. Customers include Federal, State, Local, Commercial, and Military security and protection functions.

Domestic travel will largely be focused on the east coast, including the Washington, DC area. There may be limited international travel as well. Candidates will need to be eligible for a security clearance. This is a remote position.

Responsibilities will include:

• Conduct opportunity development for Block’s chemical detection products. This involves generating and managing leads, performing high volume cold-contact efforts, increasing product awareness, and driving customer engagement.
• Provide product briefings and demonstrations, furnish quotes, draft limited proposals, and generate basic product overviews.
• Coordinate and staff trade shows.
• Document and on sales opportunities and share customer feedback.
• Expand engagement activities by working closely with Distribution and Systems Integration Partners.

The ideal candidate will have most of the following qualifications:

• CBRNE (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, explosives) experience is required. Candidates might have a background in HazMat, Emergency Management, Explosives Ordinance Disposal, Critical Infrastructure Protection, or similar.
• Prior experience in sales or sales type activity (e.g., armed forces recruiting) is desired, but not required.
• Willingness to execute a lead cultivation and development (cold engagement) regimen.
• Ability to create and provide compelling product demonstrations and briefings.
• Ability to plan work independently, work remotely, and elevate the customer experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Vulnerability Management, Salesforce, or similar CRM database.
• A Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in a technical field, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Fire Science or similar subject is ideal, but not required. Hazmat Response/Consequence Management Certifications are also ideal.

Pay: $100,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
