Blackstone Valley Prep Mayoral Academy Hiring for School Culture Coordinator Grades 5-6 at Lincoln, NE Full Time

BVP is NOW hiring TEAM MEMBERS for the 2018-2019 school year who are willing to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to put ALL scholars on a PATH TO COLLEGE. Expectations of a BVP Team Member include (but are not limited to):

• Acts on the belief that 100% of scholars can be successful in college and the world beyond
• Recognizes and celebrates diversity of educators, scholars, families, and other stakeholders by demonstrating respect for all perspectives while actively working to build an equitable school community
• Is results driven, with excellent planning and organizing skills, and a “do whatever it takes” attitude and work ethic
• Engages meaningfully in school and network professional growth opportunities and enhances professional growth by giving and seeking assistance from other team members
• Acts ethically and with integrity while following all school, network, and state policies

In addition, School Culture Coordinators are expected to:

• Coach support staff and provide priority and actionable feedback, as identified by school leadership team and directed by school leader
• Lead PD opportunities around CICO, positive behavior & relationship building as directed by the school leadership team
• Lead & manage a caseload of scholars for tier 2 behavior intervention (CICO)
• Act as a point person for school discipline and culture, including discipline/culture issues and scholars in crisis
• Support scholar culture by working with students to mediate disputes and resolve conflicts
• Maintain a school culture database including interventions and incentives to support the school culture management systems.
• Maintain courteous, respectful and professional relationships and communication with parents
• Models and promotes respect for the diversity of student backgrounds, experiences, developmental and learning needs
• Manage, coach and evaluate the Scholar Support Specialist
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Backgrounds:

• At least 3 years of successful teaching experience working with adolescents in an urban or diverse environment preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification preferred
• Familiarity with restorative practices preferred
• Bilingual candidates preferred but not required
